Erika Norris - About Me
Training, qualifications & experience
I am a fully qualified counsellor and psychotherapist accredited full member with BACP.
I completed my Level 5 Diploma at Reflect-On Academy and my Level 7 Diploma in couple counselling with the NAOS Institute.
In my private practice I work from an integrative perspective drawing on a range of therapeutic understanding and interventions. I have worked in the NHS and in a community setting (providing long term/low cost counselling) as well as in a Secondary School. Currently I provide bereavement counselling to families.
My approach to therapy is open, direct and non-judgemental with a compassionate a and nurturing attitude. Life can be difficult and painful sometimes as we may face bereavement, illness, relationship breakdown, work dissatisfaction, dilemmas and confusion or other challenges we may encounter. Each one of us brings our own unique way of being in the world that is: how you see the world and yourself and how you think about your resources (or lack of resources) to cope with life challenges.
One of my therapeutic approaches
Some people are better suited to have 1 focused session where a problem can be explored and solutions can be processed in a time limited way. It is a structured, directed, therapist led session. You decide what is your presenting issue and I will respectfully help you find your own ways to cope with it and move forward with new solutions.
